Movement Solidarity Fund
The $100,000 Movement Solidarity Fund supports campaigns and organizers fighting to make change in our communities. This new fund, operating through the principle of mutual aid, has been established by the Union Cooperative Initiative, a non-profit solidarity cooperative in British Columbia, Canada with support and partnership with Chuffed.org, a crowdfunding platform powering the leading social justice movements around the world.
Campaigns, individuals, and organizations can submit an application at any time. The fund is being financed through voluntary contributions from UCI Network Cooperatives, UCI Workers, and individual donations to our matching campaign.
We currently provide both financial and in-kind service grants ranging from $500 to $25,000. The solidarity fund is regularly replenished through individual donations and voluntary contributions from our network cooperatives.

Yes, that’s it. We believe that resources need to be easy to access and rapidly deployed so communities can campaign for justice around the world. We prioritize grants to campaigns and movements that are community-led or community-advised and make positive change for working people.
How to Apply & Timelines
Please fill out the inquiry form and a full fund application will be sent to you. We currently provide responses to applications within 1-2 weeks.
Applicants may request a rushed application review for emergency and time sensitive campaign support. Please e-mail any questions to info@unionci.ca.
We encourage applicants to provide as much details on their campaign, movement structure, and specific supports requested in their full application.
An initial assessment will be provided and applicants will have the opportunity to amend or add to their submission. Applicants may be diverted to three support steams: one-time grant, campaign development services, or long-term movement support.
